48 Assembling and Maintaining Elliptical Fitness Crosstrainers: EFX 883 / 833 / 823Verifying That the Heart Rate Display IsOperationalTo verify that the heart rate display is operational:1. Begin exercising on the equipment.2. Grasp both touch-sensitive handlebars.Note: The heart rate is read within ten seconds. Duringthat time, the heart on the display flashes.3. Look at the HEART RATE display. After a few seconds, anumber appears indicating your heart rate.4. If a number does not appear in the HEART RATE display,check the cable connection to make sure it is properlyconnected.
Chapter 3MaintenanceTo keep the equipment functioning properly, perform theminor maintenance tasks in this section at the intervalsshown on the maintenance checklist. Failure to maintain theequipment as described in this section could void the PrecorLimited Warranty.DANGERTo reduce the risk of electrical shock, alwaysdisconnect the equipment from its power sourcebefore cleaning it or performing any maintenancetasks. If the equipment is self-powered but alsouses the optional power adapter, disconnect theadapter.Daily CleaningPrecor recommends that you clean the equipment before andafter each exercise session. To remove dust and dirt from theequipment, wipe all exposed surfaces with a soft cloth thatyou have moistened with one of the following cleaners:• A solution of 30 parts of water to 1 part of Simple Green®(for more information, visit www.simplegreen.com)• ENVIR-O-SAFE oxygen enhanced cleaner or multi-taskcleaner concentrate, diluted according to themanufacturer’s instructions (for more information, visitwww.daleyinternational.com)
