Configuring and running a web application that dealswith FILESTREAM data on IIS needs some careful attention.In this lab, we will see how to deploy the web application we created in Lab 4 on IIS 7.0.There are different ways of deploying a web application on a web server; we will use theinbuilt functionality provided by Visual Studio to keep the process simple.To do this, we will:• run Visual Studio under an administrator account• publish the web application to a new virtual directory on local IIS• configure security for FILESTREAM access• run and test the application.176

With administrative privileges on the computer, we can dothis by right-clicking on the Visual Studio option in the Start menu and selectingRun as administrator.Publishing the web application into a new virtualdirectoryIn this step, we will publish the web application to a new virtual directory on local IIS.Right-click on the project name in Solution Explorer, and select Publish.
