Creating a datasetChapter 6: FILESTREAM with SSIS and SSRSThis is the first step in which we are going to do something that touches theFILESTREAM data: we'll create a dataset that fetches the product information and imagesfrom the Items table.To begin, right-click on the Datasets node in the Report Data window and select AddDataset in order to open the Dataset Properties dialog box (Figure 6-28). In the ReportData explorer, you will see the new dataset along with the data columns (Figure 6-29).Figure 6-29:The Report Data explorer showing the new dataset.We will use this dataset to build our product catalog.Designing the reportThe next step is to design the report. What we need is a tabular representation of the iteminformation. One way to achieve this is by using a Table control. In the Report Itemstoolbox, locate the Table control and then drag and drop it into the Report Designer. Thisadds an empty table to the report.Now we'll bind the columns to the columns returned by our dataset. Drag and drop theitemcode and itemname columns from the Report Data explorer into the first andsecond columns, respectively, of the table control (Figure 6-30).265
