Chapter 10: Integrating <strong>FILESTREAM</strong> with other <strong>SQL</strong> <strong>Server</strong> Features<strong>FILESTREAM</strong> and Database Mirroring<strong>SQL</strong> <strong>Server</strong> does not allow mirroring <strong>of</strong> a <strong>FILESTREAM</strong>-enabled database. We cannot adda <strong>FILESTREAM</strong> filegroup to a <strong>SQL</strong> <strong>Server</strong> database that is already mirrored. If a databasealready has a <strong>FILESTREAM</strong> filegroup, <strong>SQL</strong> <strong>Server</strong> will not allow it to be mirrored.What is very interesting is that the Mirroring option is still available in the propertypage <strong>of</strong> a <strong>FILESTREAM</strong>-enabled database. <strong>The</strong> Mirroring page will guide us step by stepthrough configuring the principal, mirror, and witness servers, and we might even geta message saying that mirroring has been successfully configured.
