Appendix A: Configuring FILESTREAM on a SQL Server InstanceMaking changes to the SQL Server FILESTREAM access level will require a service restartin some cases. Whenever you make changes to the FILESTREAM access level, SSMS willshow a warning message indicating that the changes will not take effect until SQL Serveris restarted (Figure A-8).Figure A-8:Restart SQL Server message. However, we can safely ignore this message when we select an "enable" access option;a service restart is not required when enabling FILESTREAM access on a SQL Serverinstance. If we completely disable access by selecting Disabled, a restart is required beforethe change will be effective.Figure A-9:Configured values and Running values.473
