Annexure – 7Details of Sewage Treatment Plant:PROCESS DESCRIPTIONThe sewage will be first passed through a Bar Screen Chamber & Oil & grease trapwhere any extraneous / floating matter / floating oil would get trapped. The extraneousmatter / oil have to be removed manually. The sewage would then be collected in aReceiving sump where the variations in flow and characteristics are dampened, whichotherwise can lead to operational problems and moreover it allows a constant flow ratedownstream. Thereafter the sewage is sent to fine bar screen, after passing thorough astilling chamber. The sewage after the fine bar screen is passed through a grit chamber,where the grit particles are separated and removed. The sewage will then be sent to theMoving Bed Bio Reactors (MBBR) where BOD/COD reduction is achieved by virtue ofaerobic microbial activities. The MBBR reactors would be running in series. The oxygenrequired will be supplied through coarse air bubble diffusers. The excess bio-solidsformed in the biological process will be separated in the downstream Tube SettlerTank. The clear supernatant after disinfection shall be used for landscaping / gardening.The biological sludge generated from the MBBR, which is settled in the Tube/ Settler, willbe drained into the Sludge holding tank, from where it will be fed to a Centrifuge fordewatering. The dewatered sludge has to be disposed off suitably by client. For recyclingof the treated sewage, it is passed through the tertiary treatment plant comprising of aDual Median Filter and Activated carbon Filter.
