Annexure – 11Environmental Management Plant [During Construction Stage]:EMP FOR AIR ENVIRONMENTTo mitigate the impact of dust during the construction phase of the proposed project, thefollowing measures are recommended for implementation:A dust control plan; andProcedural changes to construction activities.Dust Control PlanThe below mentioned Table provides dust control plan, specific to construction activities.Fugitive DustDust Control ActionsSource CategoryEarth-moving = For any earth moving which is more than 30m from all property lines, conduct watering as necessary to prevent visible dust emissions fromexceeding 100m in length in any direction.Disturbed surface = Apply dust suppression in a sufficient quantity and frequency to maintain aareas(exceptstabilized surface;completed grading Areas, which cannot be stabilized, as evidenced by wind driven dust, mustareas)have an application of water at least twice per day to at least 80% of theun-stabilized area. Apply water to at least 80% of all inactive accessible disturbed surfaceareas on a daily basis when there is evidence of wind driven fugitive dust. Inactive disturbed surface areasDisturbed surface = Apply water to at least 80 percent of all inactive accessible disturbedareas (completedsurface areas on a daily basis when there is evidence of wind drivengrading areas)fugitive dust.Inactive disturbedsurface areas= Apply dust suppressants in sufficient quantity and frequency to maintain astabilized surface; OR Utilize any combination of control actions 2c, 2d, or 3a such that, in total, they apply to all inactive disturbed surface areas.Unpaved roads = 4a. Water all roads used for any vehicular traffic at least twice per day ofactive operations; OR Water all roads used for any vehicular traffic once daily and restrict vehiclespeed to 15 mph.Open storage piles Apply water to at least 80 percent of the surface areas of all open storagepiles on a daily basis when there is evidence of wind driven fugitive dust.Track-out control Downwash of trucks (especially tyres) prior to departure from site. The most cost-effective dust suppressant is water, because a source of water tends to bereadily available on a construction site. Water can be applied using water trucks, handheld sprays and automatic sprinkler systems. Furthermore, incoming loads could becovered to avoid loss of material in transport, especially if material is transported offsite.Procedural Changes to Construction ActivitiesMaterial Production: The transport of materials such as concrete and asphalt toconstruction sites generate significant amounts of road dust, especially for sites that arerelatively far from material manufacturers. Setting up temporary portable concreteplants and/or asphalt plants at construction sites can eliminate haulage of materials.Phone No.: 0788 2294712, 2292683, Fax No.: 0788 2292241Web: www.chandulalchandrakarhospitalbhilai.comEmail: admin_ccmh@sify.com
