Place 3 to 5 in. of mulch on planting beds to minimize evaporation.Promoting Reuse of Water after Treatment and Development of Closed Loop SystemsTo promote reuse and development of closed loop system for water, segregation of twoschemes namely (i) Wastewater Treatment scheme; and (ii) Storm water managementscheme have been suggested.Harvested storm water as discussed in earlier section, shall be utilized for artificialrecharge of ground water sources as well as to augment the project water requirements.Recycled wastewater shall be reused on site for horticulture, D.G. Sets, flushing andother uses after treatment. It is estimated that reusing wastewater will save approximately 30 to 35 % of portablewater per day in the shopping mall. Following section details the wastewater treatmentscheme suggested for the project.Waste Water Treatment Scheme:Sanitation infrastructure shall comprise of following:Wastewater collection and conveyance systemWastewater treatment and disposal arrangementWastewater collection and conveyance system shall be an underground drainagenetwork that will be designed to collect wastewater from the complex and convey it toone point for treatment. As described earlier, approximately 450 m 3 / day of domestic and other wastewater willbe treated in a state of the art sewage treatment plant. Separate pipelines will be laid forusing this water. The treatment would be based on the conventional process fortreatment of Sewage for meeting disposal standard. The brief process is given below:Process description:The raw Effluent from various streams like Domestic and kitchen wastes is treatedthrough various treatment units as described below. The treatment is in two stage i.e.,Pre treatment and Post treatment and is based on extended aeration process.a. Pre TreatmentEffluent from various streams passes through mechanically raked SS flat Screenprovided with opening of 25 mm. After the Screen, the Effluent enters into themanually cleaned Grit Chamber where Grit of 0.15 mm and above size is held. After the Grit Chamber, Effluent flows over a V-Notch SS Weir for flowmeasurement and a Dial type flow indicator working on the principle of head riseover weir is provided on the float chamber. From SS weir, the effluent flows toPhone No.: 0788 2294712, 2292683, Fax No.: 0788 2292241Web: www.chandulalchandrakarhospitalbhilai.comEmail: admin_ccmh@sify.com
