David wasone <strong>of</strong> the most remarkable characters in history.He was a son <strong>of</strong> Jesse, <strong>and</strong> was born in Bethlehem,*Judah, about 1085 B. C. Jesse was the son <strong>of</strong> Obed<strong>of</strong> Boaz <strong>and</strong> Ruth.
