EBP <strong>in</strong> <strong>Foster</strong> <strong>Parent</strong> Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> <strong>Support</strong><strong>in</strong>fants with prenatal substance effects through both tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> support services. The STAFFcurriculum was designed specifically as an <strong>in</strong>-service tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g program, so that participants hadpreviously completed either pre-services foster parent tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, adoption preparation tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, orboth. The curriculum <strong>in</strong>cludes both didactic <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>teractive activities, <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>cludes five modules.The six-hour curriculum was designed to be delivered <strong>in</strong> a number of formats <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g, one sixhoursession, two three-hour sessions, or as three two-hour sessions of tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g.The STAFF project is rated as an emerg<strong>in</strong>g practice. If the efficacy of this project can bedemonstrated, TFC foster parents may be benefited from attend<strong>in</strong>g the tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g.Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Modalities<strong>Foster</strong> <strong>Parent</strong> CollegeThe <strong>Foster</strong> <strong>Parent</strong> College (developed through Northwest Media, Inc.) is an <strong>in</strong>teractivemultimedia tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g venue for foster parents. Users can take brief parent<strong>in</strong>g tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g courseseither onl<strong>in</strong>e (http://<strong>Foster</strong><strong>Parent</strong>College.com) or on DVD on behavior management, parent<strong>in</strong>gstrategies, <strong>and</strong> advanced parent<strong>in</strong>g workshops. A variety of topics <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g deal<strong>in</strong>g with seriouschild behavior problems, strengthen<strong>in</strong>g family relationships, <strong>and</strong> behavior management forchildren diagnosed with mental illnesses is covered.<strong>Foster</strong> <strong>Parent</strong> College is rated as an emerg<strong>in</strong>g practice.
