difference of the squared Euclidian distance: the difference between the m<strong>in</strong>imum T for obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g 4<br />

clusters and the maximum T for obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g 6 clusters equals 0.52. This <strong>in</strong>itial cluster analysis<br />

provides the first <strong>in</strong>sights <strong>in</strong>to the spatial structure of the data, which reveals the existence of a<br />

small number of clusters <strong>in</strong> the dataset. The procedure followed through k-means and Ward’s<br />

cluster<strong>in</strong>g is viewed as necessary data pre-process<strong>in</strong>g before learn<strong>in</strong>g from data via self-<br />

organization.<br />
