HOTEL LOS JUANINOS SE UBICA EN EL CENTRO HISTÓRICO DE
LA CIUDAD DE MORELIA, PATRIMONIO DE LA HUMANIDAD, DONDE
ARMONIOSAMENTE CONVIVE CON LA ESPLÉNDIDA CATEDRAL,
FORMANDO PARTE DEL ACERVO HISTÓRICO DE ESTA HERMOSA
CIUDAD, LABRADA EN CANTERA ROSA
Al finalizar el siglo XVII, el excelentísimo señor Virrey Capitán
General de la Nueva España y XIV Obispo Don Juan Ortega y
Montañés, mandaron construir en este lugar de privilegiada
ubicación el Palacio Episcopal. Sin embargo, el lujo que ostentaba
el edificio fue blanco de severas críticas lo que obligó al Obispo a
cederlo en el año de 1700, transformándose en el Real Hospital de
San Juan de Dios, fundado y administrado por más de un siglo por
la orden religiosa conocida como Los Juaninos.
El edificio, secularizado en 1857, fue adaptado por el Ing. Guillermo
Woddon de Sorinne en 1886, siguiendo un estilo romancista, para
convertirse en el Hotel Oseguera, el mejor de la época. En 1998, y
tras no haber escapado al natural deterioro del tiempo, el edificio
es intervenido para rescatar su esplendor original, restituyéndole la
función de hotel, actualmente se puede apreciar su ornamentación
ecléctica compuesta por muebles franceses, vitrales art-nouveau,
así como por detalles decorativos de la región.

MAKING PART OF THE HISTORICAL HERITAGE OF THIS BEAUTI-
FUL CITY, CARVED IN PINK STONE
At the end of the seventeenth century, His Excellency Viceroy
Captain General of New Spain and XIV Bishop Don Juan Ortega
y Montañés, ordered the construction of this place of privileged
location, the Episcopal Palace. However, the luxury held by the
building was subject to severe criticism which forced the bishop to
give it away in the year 1700, so it became the Royal Hospital San
Juan de Dios, founded and administered for more than a century
by the religious order known as Los Juaninos.
In 1886, the engineer Guillermo Woddon de Sorinne, following a
romantic style, adapted the building, secularized in 1857, which
became the Hotel Oseguera, the best of its time. In 1998, not having
escaped the natural decay of time, the building is rescued to
restore its original splendor, reestablishing the function of hotel,
nowadays you can appreciate its eclectic ornamentation composed
of French furniture, art- nouveau stained glass, as well as decorative
details of the region.

del antiguo hotel como puertas, ventanas,
techos, arcos, e incluso tinas de tipo europeo.

even to the smallest detail. Elements of the old hotel as doors,
windows, ceilings, arches, and even European-type tubs were
