Chinese New Year Gala
with Triangle Area Chinese
American Society (TACAS)
On January 31st, the Triangle Area
Chinese American Society of North Carolina
(TACAS), in partnership with the Confucius
Institute, hosted the annual Chinese New Year
Gala, celebrating the year of the Sheep in the
Dorton Arena of the NC State Fairgrounds,
which attracted about 6,000 people. The
Gala was a showcase of the Triangle’s best
Chinese cultural talents, including dragon
dance, Chinese martial arts, Chinese folk
music, and dances of various ethnic groups.
We partner with TACAS each year and this is
a great community event that welcomes local
government officials, including NC Secretary
of State, and Chinese Embassy officials.

的 羊 年 新 春 庆 祝 活 动 在 州 立 展 览 中 心 的 多 顿 展 馆
(Dorton Arena, NC State Fairgrounds) 拉 开
帷 幕 , 共 吸 引 六 千 余 名 中 外 友 人 参 观 。 展 馆 内 人 头
攒 动 , 舞 龙 、 古 筝 、 武 术 , 各 种 民 族 舞 蹈 在 舞 台 上
呈 现 。 观 众 们 一 面 欣 赏 舞 台 上 的 表 演 , 一 面 流 连 于
各 个 中 国 文 化 展 台 。 其 中 最 受 欢 迎 的 是 北 卡 州 立 大
学 孔 子 学 院 的 展 台 , 从 入 场 开 始 直 至 活 动 结 束 , 孔
子 学 院 展 台 前 参 观 的 游 客 从 未 间 断 过 。 孔 子 学 院 教
师 写 新 年 祝 福 , 送 花 灯 迎 新 。 观 众 临 摹 书 法 试 穿 传
统 服 装 , 帅 哥 美 女 中 西 合 璧 。 活 动 期 间 , 不 断 有 人
咨 询 孔 子 学 院 有 关 中 文 大 赛 和 孔 子 学 院 其 他 项 目 的
问 题 , 期 望 与 孔 子 学 院 合 作 。
