CI NEWS <strong>2015</strong><br />

In welcoming the <strong>2015</strong> <strong>Year</strong> of the Sheep the Confucius<br />
Institute hosted 11 Chinese New <strong>Year</strong> Events, and that<br />
was just the beginning of our busy semester. We had<br />
over 3,000 people study Chinese language in the Spring<br />
Semester with our programs and over 13,500 people<br />
attended our Chinese cultural events. We had over 400<br />
students compete in our Chinese Language Contests,<br />
and 80 students took the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).<br />
Our Confucius Institute continues to grow in participation<br />
numbers and also in the quality of programs that we<br />
provide.<br />
Our CI was happy to welcome three new visiting scholars<br />
from Nanjing Normal University this semester. We look<br />
forward to their new ideas and energy to continue to help<br />
our CI grow. We had two large cultural events, Packapalooza<br />
with over 60,000 participants and the Triangle Dragon<br />
Boat Festival, with over 10,000 in attendance. The Dragon<br />
Boat Festival event was also our annual “CI Day”. We<br />
opened two new Chinese business classes which helped<br />
increase our community collaboration and connection<br />
to our business population. We opened a new Confucius<br />
Classroom with Concord High School. In total for <strong>2015</strong> we<br />
had over 120,000 people attend our events and over 6,000<br />
students study Chinese.<br />
为 了 迎 接 <strong>2015</strong> 羊 年 的 到 来 , 北 卡 州 立 大 学 孔 子<br />
学 院 陆 续 举 办 了 十 一 场 活 动 , 而 这 些 活 动 仅 仅<br />
拉 开 了 孔 院 繁 忙 工 作 的 序 幕 。 去 年 一 年 , 通 过<br />
北 卡 州 大 孔 子 学 院 举 办 的 活 动 , 超 过 三 千 人 学<br />
习 了 汉 语 语 言 文 化 , 超 过 一 万 三 千 五 百 人 参 与<br />
了 中 国 文 化 项 目 ; 更 有 四 百 余 人 参 加 了 中 文 比<br />
赛 , 八 十 多 名 学 生 参 加 了 HSK 测 试 。 在 新 的 一<br />
年 里 , 北 卡 州 大 孔 子 学 院 将 继 续 致 力 于 吸 引 更<br />
多 的 人 参 与 其 中 , 并 继 续 提 供 有 质 量 的 项 目 和<br />
活 动 。<br />
这 个 学 期 , 我 们 很 高 兴 迎 来 了 三 位 来 自 南 京 师<br />
范 大 学 的 访 问 学 者 。 我 们 期 待 他 们 给 孔 院 的 发<br />
展 提 供 新 的 想 法 和 活 力 。 今 年 , 我 们 有 两 个 大<br />
的 文 化 活 动 , 新 生 狂 欢 节 有 超 过 六 万 参 与 者 ,<br />
北 卡 三 角 区 龙 舟 赛 有 超 过 一 万 名 民 众 参 加 。 龙<br />
舟 赛 也 是 我 们 一 年 一 度 的 孔 院 日 活 动 。 我 们 今<br />
年 新 开 设 了 两 门 商 务 汉 语 课 程 , 为 社 区 的 联 系<br />
和 商 务 人 群 做 出 了 贡 献 。 我 们 今 年 又 在 康 科 德<br />
高 中 新 开 了 一 所 孔 子 课 堂 。<strong>2015</strong> 年 全 年 总 计 有<br />
超 过 十 二 万 名 民 众 参 加 了 我 们 的 活 动 , 超 过 六<br />
千 位 学 生 学 习 了 汉 语 。<br />
