Summer Study Abroad Program
at Nanjing Normal University
After spending more than three
months promoting and preparing for the
Nanjing Normal University Summer Study
Abroad Program, Professor Mo Li set out
with 17 students on May 12th, 2015.
This year’s students came from
NC State University, Saint Augustine’s
University, as well as a few universities
outside of North Carolina. Students spent
five to eight weeks at NNU studying Chinese
language and culture. Based on each
student’s Chinese proficiency level, they
were placed in different Chinese classes
where they studied with foreign students
from other countries. On the weekends,
they traveled to Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou,
Hangzhou, and Hongcun (in Anhui Province)
and explore different aspects of Chinese
culture. All of the students provided
feedback indicating that they benefited
from this trip through experiencing the rich
history and civilization of China first hand.
As the study abroad trip came to an end
by mid-June, students said they would be
happy to recommend this program to their
peers.
经 过 三 、 四 个 月 的 项 目 宣 传 、 网
上 申 请 、 护 照 及 签 证 申 办 的 前 期 准 备 之
后 。2015 年 5 月 12 日 , 十 七 名 参 加 北 卡 州
大 孔 子 学 院 暑 期 海 外 汉 语 学 习 项 目 的 师
生 在 州 大 孔 院 汉 语 教 师 莫 莉 的 带 领 下 如
期 踏 上 了 旅 程 。
参 加 本 次 暑 期 项 目 的 十 七 名 师 生
主 要 来 自 北 卡 州 大 、 圣 奥 古 斯 丁 大 学 及
外 州 一 些 大 学 。 这 些 学 生 在 南 京 师 范 大
学 进 行 了 为 期 五 周 或 八 周 的 汉 语 及 中 国
文 化 的 沉 浸 式 学 习 。 在 南 京 师 范 大 学 ,
学 生 们 根 据 分 班 考 试 的 结 果 被 安 排 进 最
适 合 其 汉 语 水 平 的 班 级 , 与 其 他 国 际 学
生 一 起 学 习 汉 语 。 每 个 周 末 他 们 还 前 往
北 京 、 上 海 、 苏 州 、 杭 州 及 安 徽 宏 村 开
展 文 化 探 访 之 旅 。 中 国 各 地 或 壮 丽 或 秀
美 的 风 景 、 中 国 悠 久 的 历 史 与 传 统 文 明
给 每 一 位 学 员 留 下 了 深 刻 的 印 象 。 经 过
数 周 的 沉 浸 式 学 习 , 学 生 们 的 汉 语 水 平
取 得 了 长 足 的 进 步 , 对 中 国 历 史 和 文 化
的 了 解 也 更 加 充 分 。 许 多 学 生 都 说 他 们
会 向 他 们 的 朋 友 推 荐 这 个 海 外 汉 语 学 习
项 目 。
