China Day at Asheboro High School
On April 2nd, Confucius Institute teachers drove to Asheboro High School to give a lecture on
Chinese traditional music and a Taichi performance. This was the second time that CI cooperated with
the Confucius Classrooms with the Center for International Understanding. Confucius Institute teacher
Yang Yang introduced the CI Chinese programs and a music presentation. Dr. Tang Xiaozhong and Yang
Xiaowen demonstrated Taichi, both winning rounds of applause from 200 teachers and students. The
highlight for students was when they tried on Chinese ancient costumes while demonstrating hip-hop
dancing. After this event, students who were enrolled in Asheboro School’s Chinese program inquired
about CI key projects like Chinese Language Competition, HSK test, CI Scholarship and Summer Bridge
in hopes of participating in future events.
4 月 2 日 , 孔 院 教 师 一 行 驱 车 来 到 Asheboro 高 中 做 民 乐 和 武 术 文 化 传 播 活 动 , 此 次 活 动 是 孔 子 学 院 和 国 际
理 解 中 心 下 属 的 孔 子 课 堂 的 又 一 次 合 作 活 动 。 孔 院 教 师 杨 阳 介 绍 了 孔 院 的 发 展 历 程 和 中 文 项 目 , 之 后 做 了 民 乐 讲
座 , 唐 晓 忠 和 杨 晓 雯 老 师 做 了 太 极 展 示 , 引 起 在 座 两 百 多 名 师 生 的 强 烈 反 响 。 活 动 最 后 的 传 统 服 装 展 示 成 为 整 个
活 动 的 高 潮 , 学 生 身 穿 中 国 古 代 服 饰 , 或 是 走 起 猫 步 , 或 是 摆 出 太 极 动 作 , 或 是 热 情 舞 动 , 把 整 个 礼 堂 的 气 氛 推
向 高 潮 。 活 动 结 束 后 , 学 校 中 文 项 目 的 学 生 纷 纷 询 问 北 卡 州 大 孔 院 的 中 文 竞 赛 、HSK 考 试 、 孔 院 奖 学 金 和 暑 期 汉
语 桥 等 核 心 项 目 内 容 , 希 望 能 了 解 更 多 信 息 , 参 与 其 中 , 在 中 国 文 化 和 语 言 上 有 更 多 深 入 的 接 触 。
