the Creator, the kind they had not seen since being consigned to the
Neatherworld. But none of these demons knew what Lucifer was really
looking out for. All the things created so far had not interested him. None
of the beings created so far was the one who would have dominion over
the earth. He had put his highest ranking demons on a special
assignment, to monitor any unusual action by God while creating any
being. Lucifer could not afford to miss any special moment.
It was the morning of the sixth day of creation and the demons had
reported nothing. Lucifer was beginning to wonder if indeed this would
turn out as he had predicted, that maybe God had after all become wary
of entrusting any created being with such responsibility after Lucifer's
rebellion.
Lucifer raised his head and saw that Guilliam, his first lieutenant, was
clawed hands, he signalled for the demon to approach his throne.
Guilliam was one of the few demons that also had an eji form. He had
been a sword-bearing seraph in the old days in Heaven, one of the angels
that worshipped around God's throne. He still retained many of his
seraph features, but rather than the pure, shining white he would have
been in Heaven, he was now a chilling black. His formerly-golden crown
had become black, and so had his sword. Even his eyes were black. His six
wings rested stiffly on his back and his sword dangled in a hilt at his hip.
His voice sounded like a thousand voices merged and then all
compressed into one person's speech. He seemed more excited than
