Lucifer did not bother to humour him with a response.<br />
But Gabriel continued: “Our purpose here is done. The rest of the battle<br />
belongs to men and it is they that must get the victory.” Then he pointed down<br />
at Lucan.<br />
“How do I know this is not some gimmick to attack me while I'm distracted?”<br />
Lucifer asked skeptically, confusion setting in. “I have fought this one before<br />
and he wasn't much to fight.”<br />
Like a flash, Michael appeared beside Lucifer, startling him. “You forget<br />
who we are, Lucifer. Lies belong to you and your kind. Be rest assured that you<br />
will find this fight to be a very different one.”<br />
Lucan watched as Lucifer slowly descended out of the sky and stood<br />
opposite him. The voices of fear within him began to rise again, but he shut<br />
them out quickly.<br />
“We meet one more time, Lucan Belgore,” Lucifer roared. “And something<br />
tells me it will be our last meeting.”<br />
Lucan nodded in agreement. “On that we agree. It will surely be our last.”<br />

headlong like Eldad would. He raised his club and charged into the black<br />
flames with a shout. Waving the club before him, he beat a path to Lucifer<br />
through the flames. Lucifer swung his fiery sword at him, but Lucan<br />
