disappoint me! Did you really think my lieutenants were gone and you could<br />
now make your move on me? Fool. Imbecilic, basal fool. You were so<br />
predictable it was not even interesting to use you as bait and for excitement<br />
that would have made it worth my while. You did not even manage to surprise<br />
me at any point. You thought I didn't know?”<br />
Raw fear played across Nimrod's eye and he trembled where he lay on the<br />
floor. He hoped that his banishment to Tartarus would be done swiftly. But<br />
Lucifer continued speaking with a calmness that kept sending a chill down<br />
Nimrod's spine. He had seen this before. His punishment would not be swift.<br />
“You were nothing but the bait to draw them out,” Lucifer said as he looked<br />
towards the mountain and pointed at the guardians. “And what wonderful bait<br />
you have been. All four fish were drawn out by you in one swoop. I would have<br />
allowed the guardians finish you off, but I need to make an example of you to<br />
these other lieutenants.” Then he gestured at the demon lords as he<br />
continued. “Plus, your friends…” He paused for effect, then continued,<br />
“…have requested to give you a 'special' treatment.” With that, three demons<br />
that had been waiting came forward and carried a shaking Nimrod back to<br />
Neatherworld.<br />
Lex watched as horde after horde of demons poured into the valley. This<br />
was the single largest amassing of demons he had ever seen anywhere. He<br />
looked at the three other men. They seemed to be thinking what he was<br />
thinking. What they had faced earlier that night was child's play compared to<br />
what they were about to face. It was going to be a very long night. The real<br />
battle was just about to begin.<br />
Imani woke up slowly. She had had this interesting dream where a monster<br />
had kidnapped her from her mother's house and Lucan had come in shining<br />
