All About the Gloss and
Sheen of Lacquer
“Vision to Lacquer” will present various types
of lacquerware from countries known for the
craft like Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia
and Thailand. Visitors learn how sap from
lacquer trees is obtained to the finished
lacquerware pieces. On view are styles ranging
from lacquered and gilded pieces with gold leaf
to those decorated with glass or works with
mother-of-pearl inlay.
The ongoing show ends April 2017 at the
International Crafts Gallery by the Support of the
Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand
or the SACICT.
