The Irish Primary Principals’ Network (IPPN) is the professional body for over 6,000 leaders of<br />

Irish primary schools and works with the Department of Education & Skills (DES), the National<br />

Parents Council, management bodies, other education partners, unions, and children’s charities<br />

towards the advancement of primary education. IPPN’s vision is ‘Empowered Leaders - Inspired<br />

Learners’. In achieving this vision, our mission is to support and advocate for exemplary school<br />

leadership – Tacaíocht, Misneach & Spreagadh.<br />

The National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals (NAPD) was established in 1998<br />

to provide a united voice nationally for Principals and Deputy Principal on issues of common<br />

concern. As a professional association, NAPD seeks to promote the interests and welfare of secondlevel<br />

school leaders.<br />

In 2015, IPPN collaborated with the DES and the NAPD to establish the Centre for School<br />

Leadership (CSL), which is responsible for the coordination and quality assurance of CPD<br />

programmes for current and aspiring school leaders.<br />
