the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies’’ in the<br />
German physics magazine Annalen der Physik,<br />
postulates the special theory of relativity and, by<br />
using quantum physics, raises the possibility of a<br />
long age for the universe.<br />
1906 January: Henri Poincare’s essay on the dynamics of<br />
the electron is published: written independently of<br />
Einstein, it confirms the special theory of relativity.<br />
