82 EVERGREEN Autumn<br />
This beautiful picture was taken at Branscombe, a village of around 500 inhabitants<br />
overlooking Lyme Bay on the English Channel. Located in the East Devon (AONB)<br />
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it lies on the Jurassic Coast not far from the<br />
border with Dorset. Thatched roofs can be made of sedge, water reeds, rushes,<br />
heather or straw, and although lighter than traditional materials are hard to insure<br />
because of the obvious fire risk.<br />
