WELCOME...
...to the April / May 2018 edition of VV...
The arrival of Spring in P&TG is very welcome
after what seems to have been a long and cold
winter. Penn and Tylers Green seems to me to
be at its best in Spring, as the winter gloom is
lifted by the arrival of spring flowers, then our
woods and green spaces are transformed into
our familiar and uplifting green landscape.
Change is all around. In this edition of VV we
have updates on the Gomm Valley development
plans, the plans under consideration to create a
unitary authority in Bucks, the sad news, that at
the heart of the village, the Cottage Bookshop,
is to close, and the Red Lion is up for sale
Upcoming, over the next few months, the
village will host a variety of events, which are
familiar and anticipated. Over the May Day
weekend, the P&TGFC will host their annual
Football Festival. On May 11th, the P&TG
Residents Society will host its AGM & Social,
both great opportunities to reconnect to our
village community
These well respected and popular Village
organisations, feature significantly in this
edition of VV, both organistions have set out
their position on the FC's floodlight planning
application. I would encourage readers of VV to
read the various articles, and formulate your
own opinion. Remember that both organisations
are dedicated to our community, and do a huge
amount of great work in and for the village.
Correction
In our last edition of VV, on Page 29 'In
Memory' of Derrick Hughes, we reported that
Derrick lived until he was 97, when he was in
fact 98, and spelt Derrick's name incorrectly. We
sincerely apologise for these errors.
