BRING IT • This Training Manual • Bible WHAT TO BRING... • A sack lunch (We will NOT stop for lunch on the way; water will be provided.) • Snacks for bus trip • Beach towel and swimsuits (one piece only) • Bath towels (condo towels tend to run out quickly) • Tennis shoes and sandals • Casual clothes/shorts/T-shirts (We will not dress up for anything) • Pillow and warm clothing (sweats) for cold buses • Personal articles (deodorant, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush) • Strong sunscreen • Spending money: snacks, souvenirs, store at the beach, etc. EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER… For anyone “at home” wanting to get in touch with someone at Beach Retreat, call Second Baptist Church Dispatch: 713-365-2327 8
GET ON THE BUS • Once we are on the buses and headed to the beach, make sure you meet all the students on your bus. Watch out for loners. Help the students get to know each other. Most importantly, HAVE FUN! • Check the back of the bus often... that’s usually where most problems occur. • Keep your bus clean. Adults should take turns walking down the aisle every hour with a trash bag. • We will have lunch on the bus on the way to the beach. We will NOT stop for a lunch break. You must bring a sack lunch with you. Water will be provided. • THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE BUS IS TO HAVE FUN! This is a great time to start building relationships with your condo, ask them their stories, and follow them on social media. 9
