2018 Beach Retreat Leader Manual

LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES
Condo - You are the leader, minister, authority figure, role
model and parent of six to eight students for the week.
Connect - You will spend quality one-on-one ministry
time with each student in your condominium group. Schedule
these times to be held during your free time. Do NOT meet
during your free time duty.
Family Group - Each day at High School Beach
Retreat, you will lead a diverse group of students through a
Bible-oriented discussion and will play games designed to
build friendships and encourage spiritual growth. Materials will
be provided.
Lifeguard, Pool & Recreation Duty -
You will be assigned to help at the beach, pools or recreation
during free time. Be on time and attentive to your assignment.
Safety for the students is our top priority!
Condo Balcony – No one is allowed on the
balcony at any time.
Discipline - You are to administer discipline to students
in your condominium group, classes or any student caught
misbehaving. The rules represent an agreement between
Second Baptist Church, our students, their parents and you. It
is your responsibility to enforce all the rules. Do not break a
rule to “have a little extra fun.”
Relationships - You are to build bridges to students,
attempting to love them through your life, words and actions.
Free Time - When you are not on “official” duty,
interviewing or lifeguarding, spend free time with the students
and have fun.
Loyalty - Beach Retreat is a team effort. You have the
support and prayers of our pastor and the entire church staff.
Ask For Help - If you need assistance with any
situation, at any time, we are here for you. Do not hesitate to
call Headquarters. We will be more than willing to help out.
