may be cleansed from sin, purified, and made<br />

white, and glorified in the New Jerusalem, together<br />

with him, and with all who love our Lord and<br />

Saviour Jesus Christ, and who love his appearing.<br />

Bro. H., shall you and I appear together in that<br />

general assembly and church <strong>of</strong> the first born? If<br />

God will, I hope we shall there meet, to part no<br />

more. How can I realize the glory that will there be<br />

manifested? And how could I bear the thought to<br />

be banished from the face <strong>of</strong> Jesus, and from the<br />

glory <strong>of</strong> his power? Forbid it, O my Redeemer!<br />

Forbid! and let grace reign through righteousness<br />

unto eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord.”<br />

The same devotional feelings are manifest in all<br />

his epistles, and also evince that he experienced<br />

nearness <strong>of</strong> access to God, and great religious<br />

enjoyment.<br />

Many <strong>of</strong> his unstudied letters contain<br />

sentiments poetically expressed. Some <strong>of</strong> these<br />

have been given in the preceding pages. The<br />

following one contains so full a synopsis <strong>of</strong> his<br />
