A private addiction center that is an all inclusive place that offers mental health services, addiction<br />
counselling, alcohol and drug detox services, alumni programs and services, therapy for the mind,<br />
body and spirit, and support with hosting all-male peer groups and family/couples programs and<br />
services. It offers services for other addictions such as gambling, sex and pornography. It is one of<br />
the top men-only inpatient rehabilitation centres for residents of Vancouver and Victoria. They<br />
have multiple clinics nation wide, and host residential rehabilitation centers for effective<br />
detoxification that include daily activites. Other modes of counselling offer include fitness,<br />
yoga/meditation, and diet. The cost is higher than other centers and reflects the high amount of 1-<br />
on-1 care, adjunct treatments, and long-term support.<br />

This is a provincial inpatient treatment service for BC adults with both addiction and mental health<br />
disorders. Clients stay an average of 6-9 months, though lengths may vary. Those who are typically<br />
referred here have chronic medical issues, may have a criminal past, behavior issues, or difficulty<br />
with traditioanl mental health services. This program is also for those who are homeless or with<br />
limited housing, which is in demand right now in BC. There are a large team at the center, including<br />
psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, a pharmacist, a dietician,<br />
recreation therapists, psychologists, art therapists, music therapists, a spiritual care practitioner, a<br />
peer support coordinator, an acupuncturist, a yoga therapist, a physiotherapist and a teacher.<br />
The program at Pacifica offers inpatient stays and provides workshops including life skills and<br />
psycho-educational services around the basics of recovery (including self talk, cycles of addiction),<br />
attending to behaviors, reflection and orientation groups geared towards relapse prevention skills,<br />
complementary programming with spiritual/fitness modalities, recovery support groups, and offers<br />
different phases of treatment including one on one counselling and group therapy during the<br />
duration of the client's stay that is three phasic: grounding, growing, and going so the client has the<br />
tools to enter back into their daily life.<br />
$225/day - some insurance coverage options apply, clients on social assistance are covered by<br />
the Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation.<br />
