Alzheimer Society Calgary is a non-profit organization which focuses on ensuring that
individuals who have dementia, or those whose lives have been touched by dementia, have
access to support. The teams involve trained staff who adhere to the person-centred approach in
order to adequately and empathetically support the individual. Furthermore, this organization
aims to connect individuals who have dementia, or whose lives have been touched with
dementia with support groups and respite caregivers for stimulated activity. Sessions are also
offered to educate the individual, as well as caregivers on strategies or other resources.
Fees vary based on service/session. Note: not all services have fees.
Note: Although a referral is not necessary, Alzheimer's Society Calgary offers "First Link
Referral Program" which allows professionals to reach out on behalf of the patient and their
loved ones to ensure that they are supported from the point of diagnosis.

neuropsychologists, social workers and registered nurses, work together to assess and support
individuals who might be suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia, or other cognitive
impairments.
