Each email address must be opened and messages<br />
reviewed daily.<br />
The hotel must offer a remote printing service that allows all<br />
guests with laptops and/or any other device with wire<strong>less</strong><br />
internet or Bluetooth and print capabilities to print documents<br />
remotely from guest rooms to the hotel Business Centre or<br />
Reception.<br />
Third-p<strong>arty</strong> it equipment and software<br />
The Brand may not provide support for third-p<strong>arty</strong> software<br />
and/or equipment.<br />
The hotel may neither attach nor use third-p<strong>arty</strong> equipment<br />
and/or interfaces with the Opera technology equipment that<br />
has not been certified by the Brand as meeting the Brand’s<br />
specifications. The hotel may not install other third-p<strong>arty</strong>, non-<br />
Opera technology software on equipment that has not been<br />
certified by the Brand as being compatible with Opera. A list of<br />
compatible third-p<strong>arty</strong> software is available on the Opera<br />
Property Management website.<br />
Failure to follow this Brand Operating Standard will void any<br />
maintenance agreement with art’otel and each of such entity’s<br />
owners, subsidiaries and affiliates now and hereafter existing<br />
and the hotel will be solely responsible for any and all repair or<br />
replacement expenses.<br />
Opera technology software packages that are Microsoft<br />
compatible require the legal, licenced software (original<br />
installation disks) in order to install the software.<br />
The hotel may not install or connect any third-p<strong>arty</strong> network<br />
equipment that would allow access to the Opera network from<br />
an outside source. Firewalls and other devices installed on the<br />
Opera network must be certified by the Brand.<br />
Ethernet connections are the required standard for Opera and<br />
email capabilities.<br />
• The Broadband Internet system must offer secure<br />
wire<strong>less</strong> roaming capability.<br />
• Public areas:<br />
• Wire<strong>less</strong> Internet must be installed in all hotel lobbies<br />
and lounges;<br />
• In case wire<strong>less</strong> roaming is not available, a registered<br />
guest may not be charged again for guest room usage<br />
or vice versa; and<br />
• All wire<strong>less</strong> access must comply with applicable law<br />
regarding user data collection.<br />
• Meeting rooms:<br />
• Broadband Internet must be installed with a wired<br />
connection in each division/subdivision of all meeting<br />
and function rooms and convertible to a wire<strong>less</strong><br />
connection when required.<br />
• Wire<strong>less</strong> Internet service must be available in the<br />
meeting common areas.<br />
• Must be a plug-and-play service.<br />
• Guests must be able to establish a secure connection to<br />
their own corporate email network or virtual private<br />
network, including ‘PPTP’ and ‘IPSec’.<br />
• Applicable charges must be disclosed in the meeting<br />
agreement in advance.<br />
The hotel must procure Broadband Internet Access services from<br />
one of the PPHE Hotel Group preferred suppliers details of<br />

The hotel must have an interface from ISP provider to their<br />
PMS system.<br />
The hotel must provide the minimum data circuit size per<br />
standards below.<br />
One T1 line is recommended for base stability, with additional<br />
data circuits such as cable, Ethernet or DSL added to the T1<br />
to increase circuit size to meet minimum guest satisfaction<br />
requirements. Additional bandwidth may be required to meet<br />
guest expectations specific to each property and customer<br />
demographic.<br />

2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies in all areas of the<br />
bedroom and -70dBm in bathrooms and<br />
balcony/terrace;<br />
• The broadband service must include a contact number<br />
to call for complimentary 24/7 help-desk support; and<br />
