Music system
Few things are better able to communicate our message, vision
and surroundings than music. Through music, art’otel is
committed to providing our guests with a holistic sensory
experience during their stay in our hotels.
Brand approved tailor-made music streaming solution must be
provided with stylised music playlists for all areas of the hotel.
The system should enable the hotel to play the most suitable
music in the bar, restaurant and lobby at any time of the day.
Recruitment and selection standards
The success of any hotel is dependent upon the selection of
artistic and guest service-oriented people hired to serve the
needs of the art’otel guests. It is imperative that management
and ownership direct their efforts toward recruiting, hiring,
motivating, developing and retaining artistic and guest serviceoriented
staff.
Recruitment via required competencies:
• The hotel must use the art’otel competency guide and
interview guide in order to ensure that the individuals
recruited have the behaviours that are in line with the
competencies as defined by art’otels.
All art’otels must have a music streaming system from an art’otel
approved supplier, playing in a minimum of 2 zones.
The 2 required zones for each hotel are:
Lobby; and
Restaurant.
Music licensing
The music streaming provider shall maintain all appropriate
and required licences and permissions from the owners of the
music (i.e. mechanical licences) and the owners of the sound
recordings (i.e. master sound recording use licences) to compile
and programme the music content into the hardware. The music
streaming provider further warrants and represents that such
licences permit the participating hotel to perpetually broadcast
the music content at the hotel, provided that the hotel maintains
the public performance licences as required under the hotel’s
jurisdiction and further described below.
Guidelines employer branding:
• Hotels must follow the guidelines for all on-and offline
recruitment initiatives.
Vetting and Screening:
• The property must, in addition to the interview guidelines,
use the art’otel Vetting and Screening policies in place at
art’otel so that its employees act with integrity and
transparency in all of their business dealings.
Career site:
• All vacancies must be published on the art’otel career site
(pphe.com/careers) career site. All job postings must be
done according to the brand guidelines and vacancy
templates.
