AN IMPRESSIVE AUDIENCE gathered at the Convention
Centre Dublin for the sixth annual Salon Owner Summit,
hosted by Phorest Salon Software. International speakers
explored a variety topics such as staffing, social media,
technology and marketing. Marcus Allen of Urban Retreat in
Harrods discussed the importance of self-awareness; Pamela
Laird, founder of beauty brand Moxi Loves, revealed the
ups and downs of the modern beauty industry. Californian
hairdresser Jamie Dana gave advice for salons fearing
Instagram, and fellow American Stefanie Jackson discussed
building teams that work. Sharing her perspective on the
beauty industry was the British Beauty Council’s Millie
Kendall MBE, while salon owner Ken Picton spoke candidly
about running a business. The day was punctuated with
workshops led by business coach Ryan Power, salon owner
Phil Jackson and education innovator Kristian Tognini.
The headline was a conversation with legendary French
hairdresser Christophe Robin, who provided plenty of insight
discussing his journey to becoming a top Parisian colourist.
