Art and poetry
United Kingdom
Crashing waves on rocks
White foam stretches along coast
Heavy rain now falls.
A busy robin
Nesting in an ivy bush
I watch and marvel.
High waving branches
Large flock of birds now perch
Against dark grey clouds.
Magpie swoops past me
Flies high across the blue sky
How swift and graceful.
Crimson sunset
Reflects on small fish pond
Bird chorus at dusk.
Patterned sands stretch far
Estuary at low tide
Gulls call fills the air.
1
A line of raindrops
Hangs on long smooth branch
Forms bright round mirrors.
3
Between soft white clouds
Patchwork fields seen below
Slowly we descend.
In warm spring breeze
Shiny new green leaves sway
I stand and relish.
Little white blossoms
Fragrance fills the warm spring air
Eyes closed I inhale.
Light and Poetic
Voller Leichtigkeit und Poesie
Wendy Yeo’s abstract landscape visions are marked by a masterful
understanding of movement and a knowledge of nature that
seems both deep and astute. Appearing immaterial, they seem
to exist between make-belief and reality. Liberated and carefree,
the artist rejoices in the dynamics and velocity of her paintings.
Her motifs seem to be engaged in a wild dance triggered by a
mighty storm. With spontaneous gestures, Yeo reduces what she
sees to colorful brushstrokes of calligraphic quality, conjuring up
the traditions of haiku poetry. Although she captures nothing
but a fleeting moment, her paintings – just like her poems – are
magnificent symphonies marked by a powerful emotional mode
of expression.
emotionalem Ausdruck.
