Students specializing in acting will focus on advanced acting techniques, directing, technical theater and playwriting; and students specializing in musical theater performance will study singing and vocal techniques, dance, music theory, and musical theater history. History: Lynn University is an independent college based in Boca Raton, Florida, with approximately 3,000 students from nearly 100 countries. Lynn’s goal is to remain small and maintain a multifaceted, coeducational, primarily residential university with a small college atmosphere. The Drama Program at Lynn University is a concentrated acting and musical theater training program that prepares students to be professional actors in theater, movies, television, and musicals. The unique and comprehensive curriculum blends traditional and contemporary theatrical training methods through innovative approaches that keep pace with the demands of the industry. Facilities, Classrooms, and Theatres: Take the stage in the 750-seat Wold Performing Arts Center, or our smaller studio performance space as a drama major at Lynn University. The 750-seat Wold Performing Arts Center was recently ranked by Best Value Schools, an online publication, as one of the “25 Most Amazing University Performing Arts Centers.” The Wold features superb acoustics, a modern lighting system, a large, light-filled lobby and flexible space well-suited for dramatic productions, concerts and other cultural events. With an elegant salon, outdoor sunset terrace and intimate black-box studio, this new center is home to numerous plays, musicals, concerts and events, including the Lynn Drama production season, and performances from the Lynn University Conservatory of Music. Valued at up to $5000 and renewable for four years, this scholarship is awarded to talented individuals that exhibit the potential to have successful careers in the dramatic arts. 15
