Program Objectives: The New York Film Academy (NYFA) Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in<br />
Acting for Film is an eight-semester conservatory-based, full-time study program. The<br />
curriculum is designed to immerse gifted and energetic prospective actors in all aspects of<br />
acting as a discipline. With a faculty of professionals who actively work in the Broadway, dance,<br />
voiceover, television and film industry, students will receive hands-on education in all<br />
performance-based mediums.<br />
History: New York Film Academy (NYFA), the regionally accredited <strong>College</strong> of Visual and<br />
Performing Arts, was started 30 years ago in New York City, and is designed for a new<br />
generation of storytellers: performing and visual artists who share a driving passion and want to<br />
learn in the field by creating their own projects in an intensive, hands-on collaborative<br />
environment. The central philosophy of the New York Film Academy is “learning by doing.”<br />
NYFA’s curricula are centered around project-based learning, where students work in<br />
state-of-the-art facilities and with industry-standard equipment and software, building a skill set<br />
and knowledge base that are the foundations for success in their chosen profession.<br />
