Program Objectives: The theater program at New World School of the Arts is dedicated to the<br />
professional training of talented and committed students interested in pursuing a performing<br />
career in Acting and Music Theater.<br />
History: At NWSA, theater students have the opportunity to work in a hands-on intensive,<br />
physically demanding, artistically challenging, and exciting environment, guided by faculty who<br />
are professional actors, directors, playwrights and designers. The curriculum guides students<br />
toward the ownership of a personal technique and a comprehensive methodology of working.<br />
Facilities, Classrooms, and Theatres: Their training on the classical texts and the principles of<br />
drama make practical incursions into the contemporary and experimental edges of theater, while<br />
performance, an essential part of the theater training, is approached in a sequential, progressive<br />
manner to give the student vision, strength, and a sense of purpose in the theater.<br />
Scholarships and/or Assistantships: NWSA accepts funds offered through the Federal<br />
Student Aid program. NWSA scholarship is awarded annually and is based on merit. Award may<br />
be applied to MDC or UF tuition and fees. The American Dream Scholarship helps the dream of<br />
higher education become a reality. This scholarship picks up where other aid and scholarships<br />
leave off, ensuring that bright, qualified students have the means to continue their education.<br />
Miami Dade <strong>College</strong> also offers a payment plan through Nelnet. Make college more<br />
affordable by paying for tuition and fees over time. Tuition payment plans break down your<br />
tuition balance into affordable monthly payments. There's no interest, payment options are<br />
flexible, and setup fees are affordable.<br />
