Very Special Entertainment This Month
By: Evan Davis / Entertainment Editor
April is turning out to be one powerhouse
of a month. Besides all the regular weekly
shows, there are “one & done” gigs going on
every week.
There’s the 22 nd Annual Vocal Jazz Solo Night on
April 2 nd at the Jay Morrison Hall. Gatsby’s at Gambit
in Henderson features The Uli Geissendoerfer Trio with
special guest singers on the weekends.
On April 10 th at the Sahara Library the Pentagogical
Brass will be performing at 3 pm. Myron’s at the Smith
Center will host a night of Romance and Fun with Giada
Valenti on the 20th.
There’s different entertainment in the afternoon and
evenings at The Golden Tiki in China Town on the weekends. You can
find Blues at Saddle and Spurs Saloon along with a little country at
Skyline Casino or Gilley’s.
You’ll find different shows every week at Starbright Theatre or
matinees at the Clark County Library. On April 7 th Grammy-nominated
drummer Jeff Hamilton brings his trio to Myron’s at the Smith Center
along with guest vocalist Laura Shaffer. Check out the Crooners, Inc. at
The Mint Tavern on Sahara April 20 th .
How about a Drag Brunch on April 17 th or The World Series of Comedy
April 26-28 at Notoriety downtown? Comedy Magic & Mentalism
in “Totally Mental” or Vegas Country Nights with Chase Brown or
Faaabulous The Show.
Then there is An-Alt Comedy Variety Show called Viral Live with Sarah
Hester Ross. All this takes place downtown at Notoriety.
Let’s not forget the on-going shows at the Piazza
Lounge at the Tuscany Hotel, the Cigar Bar in
Summerlin, Wednesday through Sunday entertainment
at the Italian American Club or enjoyment at Lake Las
Vegas.
And best of all, The Vegas Voice has a show
that’s a tribute to Nat King Cole and Barbra
Streisand featuring Ronnie Rose and Elisa
Fiorillo. That all happens at Sun City MacDonald
Ranch on Saturday April 23 rd at 7 pm.
Plus, I start our Vegas Voice “Fabulous Fridays”
luncheon and variety/talk show with my co-host Jonny Bird
(see photo) and special guest performers. That’s also at
MacDonald Ranch on Friday April 8 th at noon.
Get out in April while the temperature is cool, and the entertainment
is Hot!
The Show of the Year
Entertainment
editor Evan Davis
with Tony Arias
as he autographs
the show poster
before his
performance last
month at Sun
City MacDonald
Ranch. Without
any doubt, Tony’s
Vegas Nights
joined by the
Michael Dubay
Trio was beyond
wonderful and
spectacular!
For those of you who were there, you know what we are saying. For
those that missed it, our only question is “Why? You don’t like fantastic
shows?”
As faithful reader Suzy S. emailed Publisher Dan: This is what I
think about your show tonight.
Why don’t I buy tickets for the rest of the year now? Love
your shows. What else is there to say?
