Why Did Jesus Rise
from the Dead?
Directions: Read about why Jesus rose from the dead. Then,
answer the questions.

Jesus’ Resurrection was the greatest of miracles.
Three days before His Resurrection, Jesus
suffered and died on the Cross. His
body was placed in a tomb.
On the third day, Jesus rose from the
dead. The Risen Jesus has a glorified
body — all of the power of God is
revealed in Him.
But why did Jesus rise from the dead? Here are five
reasons:
• To prove that He is God. Only God has the power
to give life.
• To defeat death. Jesus’ Resurrection won a great
victory over death. Death no longer holds power
over us. Jesus opened the doors to Heaven for us.
