all souls. He gave to His Apostles His
same mission. The Church shares
Jesus’ mission: the salvation of
souls.
Jesus carried out His
mission in three roles, or
offices: Priest, Prophet, and
King. The Church has these
roles too:
• Priest: Priests help people
become holy. The Church
helps her members become
holy. The Church is holy because
God is holy. The Church gives us God’s
grace in the Sacraments.
