• Jesus’ miracle at the Wedding at Cana was His first miracle and
foreshadowed the institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper.
• At the Last Supper, Jesus changed bread and wine into His Body
and Blood, Soul and Divinity — the Eucharist.
• Jesus instituted the priesthood at the Last Supper, giving the
Apostles — and the bishops and priests after them — the authority
to change bread and wine into His Body and Blood by the power of
the Holy Spirit.
• Transubstantiation is the theological term used to describe the
miraculous change of the gifts of bread and wine into Jesus’ Body
and Blood.
