Fox Valley
Shoppers flock to Fox Valley in Sheffield
all year round to visit the eclectic mix of
independent boutiques, high-street staples,
and tempting cafes and restaurants.
Based in Stocksbridge on the site
of a former steelworks, Fox Valley
opened in 2016 and has attracted
shoppers from across the country
looking for a relaxed, stress-free
shopping experience away from the
crowded indoor malls.
But during the festive period,
a visit to Fox Valley is even more
special with the Insta-worthy
Christmas decorations that festoon
the retail park.
Christmas at Fox Valley kicks
off on Friday 18th November with
the annual light switch-on event.
There will be live entertainment in the
fountain area from 4pm with guest
DJ, Barnsley’s Stephanie Hirst who
will be getting the party started and
counting down to the big switch-on
at 6pm.
Throughout the event there will
be fairground rides for the kids as
well as a festive market and street
food and bar area with mulled wine,
pizzas, snow cones and crepes. Be
sure to stay for the grand finale with
a special performance by Spark
illuminated drummers.
Fox Valley is open seven days
and you’ll always be sure of a
warm Yorkshire welcome. There
is ample car parking, all on one
level, with four hours’ free parking
before 5pm or pay £3.50 to park
all day. Disabled parking, electric
charging points and even free to
loan mobility scooters are available
to customers, with all stores fully
accessible. There are also good bus
links from Sheffield, Penistone and
Chapeltown.

As well as Sandersons the
centre’s flagship department store,
you’ll find big name favourites
such as Boots, Home Bargains,
Sports Direct and the huge Range
superstore, along with brands
you won’t find nearby such as
Seasalt Cornwall and Jojo Maman
Bebe. The centre is also home to
the biggest outdoor clothing and
equipment range in Yorkshire with
Regatta, Mountain Warehouse and
Go Outdoors to complement the
popular walking location on the edge
of the Peaks.
Fox Valley offers visitors a mix
of retail and leisure, with a barber,
gym and opticians to name a few. If
you’re in charge of Christmas dinner
this year, then get stocked up on
festive food and all the trimmings at
Aldi, Bridge Bakery, and the region’s
favourite independent butchers, John
Crawshaw. There is also a weekly
Friday market and monthly weekend
with fresh produce and sweet treats.
If you’re looking for gifts for
those who are hard to shop for,
lay your hands on some unique,
personalised presents handmade
by Yorkshire makers and crafters at
the popular outdoor artisan markets.
The festive dates are Sunday 27th
November, Saturday 3rd and Sunday
4th December, and Sunday 18th
December.
Santa will be making his annual
visit to Fox Valley with his grotto
open on 3rd, 4th, 17th and 18th
December. But beware of the mean
one looking to steal Christmas when
the Grinch visits on Saturday 10th
December.
Press pause on your shopping
spree to warm up at one of the
independent cosy cafes or trendy
restaurants. Whatever time of
day you visit, there will always
be something on the menu to
take your fancy. Start your day
with a Yorkshire-brewed coffee
and homemade pastry from
Bridge Bakery or grab lunch from
Raffina Deli.
There are three quality
restaurants on site that all boast a

different flavour. McGilveray’s menu
features British classics such as
baked belly pork, speciality pies or
pan-fried seabass. Zorro Lounge
has a laid-back vibe with a menu
that boast sandwiches, superbowls
and small plate tapas. Ponti’s Italian
Kitchen serves up authentic pasta,
pizza and dolci desserts along with a
special lunch menu and an aperitivo
menu for after-work drinks just like
the Italians do.
