Christmas dinner is<br />

celebrations that most<br />
people look forward to<br />
the most.<br />
But not everybody has the same<br />
palate so roast turkey won’t be eaten<br />
in everyone’s household.<br />
Some people opt to go for curry<br />
on Christmas, while others have<br />
goose and I even know someone<br />
who has beef stew!<br />
But no matter what you’ll be<br />
eating on Christmas day, the wine<br />
list still remains a conundrum for<br />
many. Here I share my top wines<br />
that I hope will pair nicely with<br />
your spread.<br />
To pair with turkey<br />
A traditional turkey dinner is much<br />
like a very grand Sunday dinner.<br />
There are many different tastes<br />
and textures on the plate, normally<br />
coated in delicious gravy. The focal<br />
point is of course the turkey, a white<br />
meat that when cooked right offers<br />
a juicy texture and mild flavour. Mild<br />
is the key word here. We have to be<br />
careful to not overpower the meat.<br />
I’d recommend pairing turkey with<br />
a light and young red wine. The likes<br />
of Pinot Noir or Gamay should work<br />
well. These grapes are thin skinned<br />
and produce light-bodied red wines<br />
with cherry notes. They are also<br />
high in acidity so will cut through the<br />
saltiness of the gravy.<br />
