MAKE YOUR OWN
Christmas
snowman
Bring Frosty inside
with this brrrr-illiant
craft idea that all
the family can get
involved in making.
YOU WILL NEED
3 Styrofoam balls (1 large, 1
medium & 1 small)
Pleated cotton wool
PVA glue
Small black eyes or black
headed pins
Twigs for arms
2 cocktail sticks
Craft knife & pokey tool
Black, red & yellow card
Pom Poms (1 orange and 2
black)
Glitter
Knitting Nancy & wool
Cheap hairspray & wire
METHOD
Using your craft knife, carefully
take off the bottom of the large
and medium balls to create a flat
bottom. Use cocktail sticks and
glue to fasten the balls together.
Separate the pleats of cotton
wool into thin layers and glue
onto each ball. Press firmly into
the joining sections and set aside
to dry.
Spray each section with
hairspray and sprinkle with glitter.
Stretch and roll an orange
pom pom into a pointed nose
shape and glue to the centre of
the head. Glue eyes in place.
To make the hat, cut two
circles from black card one
smaller than the other. Cut a 6cm
wide strip long enough to go
around the smallest circle. Score
this piece 1.5cm in from each
side and snip to make tabs. Fold
inwards and carefully glue each
tab around the small circle. Let
dry then repeat with the large
circle.
Using a pokey tool, make a
hole at each side of the body and
glue the twigs in place for arms.
Fasten a piece of wire between
the twigs and decorate with
yellow stars.
To finish, add a strip of red
card and holly to the hat, two
pom poms to the chest and
blusher to the cheeks.
Use a knitting nancy and wool
to make a scarf.
Your snowman is now
complete
