Excellent work
We have just had our
bathroom completely
refitted. From visiting their
showroom, buying the
components through to the
fitting we experienced an
excellent service.Ben and
Sean who came to do the
work were prompt, polite
and professional and the
added bonus was they
always tidied up. We are
extremely pleased with the
work carried out and would
highly recommend Soak.
Winter might not seem like a good time to start a
renovation project. But spending more time indoors
in the colder weather means you have the perfect
excuse to finally begin any home improvement
projects you’ve been putting off all year.
Because let’s face it, we all
need something more fulfilling
to do than binge-watching a
TV series or eating all those
Christmas chocolates...
Freshen up paintwork
Don’t leave the paint projects
until spring or summer. The dry
winter air can help fresh coats of
paint dry more quickly.
Lay new carpets
A busy year means carpets can
look more threadbare, ripped or
bulging than they did in January.
When you replace carpeting in the
winter, your home will feel cosier
add warmth for the snowy season.
Switch up your
light fittings
The early sunsets and lack of
daylight really mess with our mood
in winter. Fight back by swapping
out tired old light fixtures for bright,
cheery ones that will improve
illumination – and your spirits.
Reorganise your
storage
A pre-Christmas clear-out
is on most households’ to-do
lists. Organise everywhere from
your coat and shoe cupboard to
wardrobes and kitchen units with
new storage solutions such as
hooks and baskets so you can
easily find things out.
Focus on small
changes
For some of us, the thought of a
massive renovation project when
Christmas is looming is the last
thing we need. But if you do want
to make a few changes, there are
small and easy ways to update
your home. New kitchen handles
or a new bathroom tap are easy
projects you can do in an hour
without much mess.
Don’t forget
safety first
Winter months are the peak
months for house fires, so be sure
to evaluate and upgrade your
home’s safety features, such as
carbon monoxide detectors and
smoke detectors. Smoke and
carbon monoxide detectors should
be tested monthly and replaced
every five to seven years. Pay
attention to the expiration dates on
your detectors, and when it’s time
to replace, upgrade to a newer
model with better safety features.
