Foreman, Robert Low (Bobby)
Bobby was born on December 21, 1920 in Brock, Saskatchewan. When he
was fifteen, his family moved to Beaver Pass where they operated a general
store. In August 1942, Bobby enlisted in the Seaforth Highlanders of
Canada in Vancouver. He served for one year in England before going to
Africa and then Italy where he was wounded three times before being killed
in action on February 24, 1945. Bobby is buried in the Assisi War Cemetery
in Rivotorto, Italy. Mount Foreman, 36 kilometers east of Barkerville, BC
in Bowron Lake Provincial Park is named in his honour.

Fontaine, Joseph Raymond Ernest
Raymond was born in Ponteix, Saskatchewan on August 15, 1925 and
passed away on March 1, 2011 in Mesa, Arizona. In 1942, when he was
seventeen, he enlisted in the Canadian Army in Vancouver, BC and served
overseas until 1946, first in the Artillery and then in the Canada Scottish
Regiment. Raymond was awarded the Defence Medal, the France and
Germany Star, the 1939-1945 Star, and The Canadian Volunteer Service
Medal. While in the army, he boxed with the Golden Gloves. After the war,
Raymond worked as a logger for over twenty years as a Cat Skinner with
MacMillan Bloedel until he retired in 1990.
Fraga, Edunio
Edunio was born in Horta Falls, Azores in 1934. He served in the
Portuguese Army and after immigrating to Canada served as a Corporal with
the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in Korea. Edunio has been a
member of Smoky Smith Legion Branch #16 for sixteen years.
