Jones, James D. R. (Jim)<br />

Jim joined the Royal Canadian Regiment on July 22, 1964. He has been a<br />

member of <strong>Legion</strong> Branch #26 in Kelowna for seventeen years.<br />

BRITISH COLUMBIA / YUKON COMMAND<br />

Jenkins, Arthur Charles<br />

Arthur was born in New Westminster in 1923. He enlisted in November<br />

1942 and served in Canada, England, Italy, and Northwest Europe with the<br />

Royal Canadian Regiment in World War Two. Arthur has been a member of<br />

<strong>Legion</strong> Branch #2 in New Westminster since the end of the War.<br />

Jones, William F. (Bill)<br />

Bill was born in Toronto, Ontario on April 7, 1935 and joined the Canadian Forces on<br />

September 8, 1953 in North Bay, Ontario. He served at St Jean, QC, Aylmer, ON,<br />

Edmonton, AB, and Zweibrücken, Germany (with 3 Fighter Wing) on contact training as a<br />

recreation specialist and in 1960, continued his training in Aylmer, ON. He then served in<br />

Moose Jaw, SK; Inuvik, NWT; Shearwater, NS; Gagetown, NB; and Esquimalt, <strong>BC</strong> before<br />

retiring in 1980. He joined the <strong>Legion</strong> in 1972 in Inuvik and then moved to Langford,<br />

Salmon Arm, and then Sooke Branch #54. He held many executive positions including two<br />

terms as Vice President, three as President. He was Deputy Zone Commander from 2001-<br />

2003. He became a Life Member in 1997 and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.<br />

In 2003, he received the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for Community Services in Sooke and the<br />

Sooke District Volunteer Service Certificate. Bill continues to serve on the Poppy<br />

Committee, was an active member of the Colour Party for fifteen years and carried the<br />

Olympic torch for the <strong>BC</strong>/Yukon Command in the 2010 torch relay.<br />
