www.legionbcyukon.ca Skoreyko, Max Max was born in Andrew, Alberta in 1922. He enlisted in the Army and took basic training in Brantford, Ontario and advanced training in Camp Borden. Max served with the King’s Own Rifles of Canada, The Irish Regiment of Canada, the Algonquin Regiment, and the Highland Light Infantry of Canada in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Continental Europe from 1943 until 1946 during World War Two. He is a member of Legion Branch #229 in Whalley, BC. BRITISH COLUMBIA / YUKON COMMAND Skinner, Alexander Alexander was born in Ross-shire, Scotland on August 12, 1887. He served two years with the Seaforth Highlanders Volunteers before he immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba and started farming. He enlisted in the 179 th Infantry Battalion with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 2, 1915. Alexander was sent to England in October 1916 and his Battalion was absorbed into the 17 th Reserve Battalion. Alexander transferred into the Canadian Army Service Corps for the remainder of the war. His British War Medal and Allied Victory medal are displayed in Prince Edward Legion Branch #91 in Langford, BC. Small, Gerald L. Gerald was born in August 1917 in Newcastle Bridge, New Brunswick. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in May 1957 and served in Cold Lake, Alberta from January 1958 to October 1962, with 3 Wing in Zweibrücken, Germany from October 1962 to October 1966, in Cold Lake from October 1966 to May 1976, in Greenwood, Nova Scotia from May 1976 to August 1979, and in Cold Lake again from August 1979 to November 1985. Gerald was released from the Air Force in February 1986. He lives in Westbank, BC where he has been a member of Legion Branch #288 for thirty-six years. 253
