Nor is it necessary for you to be led into extraoi<br />

dinary circumstances, to learn or to practise courage<br />

If it were, you might despair of acquiring it, since<br />

<strong>The</strong>refore, seek to be brave in the affairs of youi<br />

girlhood. Overcome the timidity of your sex, <strong>by</strong><br />

undaunted resolution to meet and conquer all difficulties<br />

that may arise, and you will<br />

be the possessoi<br />

of a second element of self-reliance.<br />

A third spring of this essential quality is a consciousness<br />

of ability to support yourself <strong>by</strong> the fruil<br />

of your own labor.<br />
