Maspalomas<br />

San Bartolomé de Tirajana boasts a privileged<br />

32 km of coastline, featuring large and majestic<br />

beaches of clear sand - some of which is volcanic<br />

sand-, beautiful rocky depths that harbour a<br />

great diversity of marine life and excellent weather<br />

conditions, constituting a paradise for enthusiasts<br />

of aquatic activities. The waters of this<br />

peaceful coastline maintain warm ocean temperatures<br />

throughout the year, ranging from 18º<br />

to 25º Celsius. Here, just a few hours from any<br />

point in Europe, you will find the beach of your<br />

dreams, a magnificent setting to enjoy the sun<br />

and the clean waters of the Atlantic Ocean.<br />

29 beaches and coves: Beaches running from<br />

Playa de los Tártagos to Playa de Parchel constitute<br />

the most selective choice when it comes to<br />

enjoying the sun and seawater.<br />

The most famous beaches are Playa del Inglés,<br />

Maspalomas and San Agustín, which have been<br />

proud holders of Blue Flags since 1988. The Blue<br />

Flag is an environmental quality award developed<br />

by the FEEE (Foundation for Environmental<br />

Education in Europe), sponsored by the European<br />

Commission, and is awarded for keeping<br />

beaches or marinas clean, safe and managed<br />

with respect for the local environment.<br />

Camping on the beaches and coasts of the San<br />

Bartolomé de Tirajana coastline is totally prohibited<br />

all year round and at any time of day or<br />
