and with brown leather label, joints starting, but holding firm, some<br />

*** Camilli, in this work dedicated to Ferdinando de’ Medici,<br />

provides the device and motto of the most illustrious families of<br />

Italy. In addition to his lines of verse to accompany each emblem he<br />

provides an interpretive commentary of the allegorical symbolism<br />

and historical significance embedded in the image.<br />
